Alexis’s passion is inexhaustible and absolutely infectious. Whether she’s talking to a Hollywood star, Fortune 500 CEO, high school teenager or impoverished child, each receive the same amount of her attention, curiosity and compassion. What is truly unique about Alexis is that she meets every new person with genuine interest–as if each possessed a secret they’ll eventually reveal to her with the right amount of comfort, coaxing and conversation. And it’s usually true! She is instantly disarming and engaging. Alexis is simply not afraid–of new people and experiences, of testing her own boundaries, and most importantly of being herself.

Alexis Jones is undoubtedly one of the most memorable and most promising undergraduate students I have yet encountered in my seven-year tenure as a professor at the USC- Annnenberg School for Communication and Journalism. I had the privilege of having her in only a single graduate communications seminar (Media & Marketing) several years ago, but over the course of that semester, her special characteristics of mind and spirit made an indelible impression that still serves as a benchmark against which I have measured subsequent cohorts of high-achievers. Since that initial experience together, Alexis and I have maintained a richly rewarding professional friendship and through the numerous interactions we have had regarding her far-flung global adventures, her passionate commitment toward advancing the cause of girls and women everywhere, and the challenges of being a young entrepreneur, I can honestly say that I know Alexis as well as I have ever known a student. At a moment of profound reckoning in our national – and global – destiny, when so many concerned observers across the ideological spectrum wring their hands in the face of big problems, not least of which is what they perceive to be a trend of inexorable moral decline in the lives of today’s youth, it is reassuring to know that young leaders like Alexis who embody a genuine belief in our capacity to build a brighter future are out there and putting their shoulder to the commonweal. Alexis is tough, she’s smart, she’s charismatic, and she’s unfailingly generous with her incredible gifts. She’s a winner who will give any organization within which she’s a member a decisive edge over the competition. And she’s also a woman of deep and abiding curiosity and compassion who will uplift the lives of all those with whom she shares a meaningful encounter. I enthusiastically endorse Alexis Jones to all interested parties without reservation.
Professor and Expert on Pop Culture
The first time Alexis Jones spoke to our students she closed to cheers and a standing ovation. The next morning I was greeted at school by a mass of students who had to have her address in order to write to her. They were convinced that only she could understand them! Last year Alexis Jones provided an inspirational presentation that was mesmerizing to our all-girl student body. Her message, be true to yourself, each of us is beautiful, and its hard work that brings us true success, touched our girls in a way that left them feeling inspired and empowered. When Alexis returned this year for a second visit, our girls were excited to greet home one of their “sisters.” Never imagining she could top her first presentation, we were once again blown away. This year’s message, never sell out your values, captivated our girls and left them aspiring to model after her. Her style and her real personal experiences make her a motivational presenter who is welcome back on our campus as frequently as she can make possible. She makes an immediate connection with her audience leaving them ready to make her message a part of themselves. That message has warmed the souls of our young girls!

I worked with Alexis last summer at a youth camp (WADI) in Cairo, Egypt. I watched her all through the 9 days we were there and have seen the wonders that she does with girls. She engaged the group of girls right from the start, opened up on aspects of her personal development, and encouraged the girls to share their own stories and experiences. I was amazed and very touched at the way she communicated. Alexis didn’t need a stage to get the girls’ attention, her charisma and passion made the girls curious to find out what was different about her. Alexis has not just been inspiring to the girls but also to me.

I met Alexis originally when she joined a friend and client of mine for private yoga instruction. We became very close friends finding a mutual passion for betterment of the world at large. As the originator of a training business for mental, spiritual, and physical fitness, and the designer of original acting methodology for artists, I’ve learned what kind of determination and fortitude it takes to move projects and business forward. Alexis has demonstrated a stark talent not only for implementing business strategy, but more importantly for impacting woman on a core level, amassing change from the inside out. During the time I’ve known Alexis Jones, I’ve discovered she has an arresting ability to connect with virtually anyone, which has taken her across the globe advocating awareness and leading by example. When I see her speak to audiences about what is possible for women as well as men, I am moved by her Spirit, and by the vision she maintains to heal women from archaic and unquestioned ideas of self worth and women’s roles in the world. Her message is simple and profound; true beauty lies in a woman’s character and her contribution, as well as her potent body. Alexis Jones is an example of woman’s innate fluxing vibrancy, and is a rare and great voice for Generation Y. She reveals the source of women’s true power, and inspires women to break free from the shackles of ancient, false, manipulative patriarchy. As a man, I am proud and honored to know her and to support her cause.

My connection to Alexis Jones is more personal than professional, though I feel a little qualified to comment on both. I am the CEO of a national marketing company and I employ a lot of young professionals, so I am around a of people Alexis’ age. If our first meeting had been an interview rather than a cross-country flight, she would definitely have been hired! I met Alexis when we were seated next to each other on an LA-NYC flight.. By the time we landed at JFK, I had made a new friend and an incredible almost re-connection to what young, female power and leadership really looks like. I was blown away not only by Lex’s incredible drive and passion for helping under-served girls but also by her unique self-possession. She had a confidence that belied her young years, yet she was not arrogant or over-reaching in any way. In fact, she had something I see less and less in people her age, interest and curiosity in others. And it was genuine. She is a student of the world and her environment because she feels a calling to take back what she knows and what she learns to these girls she mentors and motivates. Every parent should want their girls to meet Alexis Jones. She is honest, open, genuine, enthusiastic, optimistic and eager to help others connect to those same things in themselves. She is THAT girl!

It is with great pleasure I recommend Alexis Jones as a speaker. Alexis is personally motivated to make the world a better place for girls and women, and inspires others to do the same. As the founder and director of I Am That Girl, Alexis has created an online community that empowers girls and women to dream big! Girlstart empowers girls in math, science and technology, and I’ve seen firsthand how increased confidence can empower a girl to try new things and believe in herself. Alexis embraces that concept completely! She is a great example of someone who is positive, takes risks, and embraces challenges/obstacles. Last year Alexis was the keynote for our Expanding Your Horizons Conference, which had nearly 400 middle school girls in attendance. Alexis knocked it out of the ballpark! She managed to inspire girls to look past the outside and dig deep inside to find their true self worth. One parent commented that ‘listening to the speaker [Alexis] was very inspirational for [her daughter].’ Alexis has a rare gift! She is able to inspire her audience, and entertain them, which is critical for today’s audiences. She is a great role model for girls and women everywhere.
